creating the silks

All my silks are individually free-form hand-painted and then finished by me personally in my home studio.

I assemble a frame, stretch the selected type and size of silk on that frame, then paint with watercolor-like dyes. Once dry, each silk is steamed to set the dyes, permitting the silk to then be easily cared-for through either hand-washing or dry cleaning. Care instructions are included with each silk. They last forever and bring delightful color and creativity to your wardrobe!    Gift-wrapping is available.

silk jacquards have a pattern in the weave of the silk itself

The silks all begin in an off-white natural color.

I use differing weights of habotai silks, crepe de chine, silk satin, flat crepe, and silk jacquards.
